GERMANY: 3. Liga
Hallescher - Viktoria Berlin
pick: Hallescher FC +0 Asian handicap
odd:1,90
Info:
Halle must never stand +0 at home against a team from Berlin that is facing very difficult weeks due to different reasons. Viktoria Berlin have recently been released from quarantine, and they revealed to have stamina problems in their latest match after they had been without training for two weeks. They were really hopeless at their defeat in Kaiserslautern (2:0), and their manager did actually admit that his team was simply not in the shape to get more out of this match. They lacked any offensive power, and they could have played another 90 minutes without scoring. Another reason for this is that their superstar Cigerci has left them in the winter break. He was their by far most important player, and Viktoria is much weaker without him. Due to those reasons, I expect Viktoria to have a difficult second half of the season.
Halle have been desperate for a win for a long time already as well but their bad results can at least to a certain extent be reasoned by mere variance. Already among former manager Schnorrenberg, Halle were never as bad as their results made them look like. That's common knowledge, and they definitely have the quality to avoid relegation. Nevertheless, they fired Schnorrenberg before Christmas and signed a new manager. With this new manager (Meyer, preference for offensive football), they had a decent first match away at promotion candidate Braunschweig. They would have deserved to take a draw and for no reason, their regular equaliser was taken away by the referee. Despite this unlucky defeat, they could withdraw plenty of positive aspects from this match. Similar to Viktoria, Halle lost their superstar. Striker Boyd has been sold to Kaiserslautern. However, and that differs from Viktoria, Halle have signed a replacement. Huth, who has a similar physical presence as Boyd, has come, and he should be able to replace Boyd at least more or less. With young Wosz from RB Leipzig, they signed a big talent on a loan deal.
Another advantage is that fans are allowed in Halle's stadium. They don't have ultra support but at least some atmosphere and no ghost game environment. They should be physically superior to Viktoria, and also they are currently just performing on a higher level. Both teams played away at promotion candidates last weekend, but the spirit of both teams' performances were totally similar. Halle will be highly motivated to turn things around in this midweek fixture, whereas for Viktoria, the week with midweek matches comes very inconvenient due to their stamina issues. +0 on the hosts is not appropriate here and worths to be taken.
